BGC Peel has been changing lives of children, youth, & families across Mississauga, Brampton & Caledon since 1983.
Our Legacy
As a not-for-profit, charitable organization, our purpose & impact over the past 41 years, has been and continues to be a positive service provider & partner for the 40,000 members, (24K children 6-13yrs old, 16K youth 14-24yrs old, & 10K+ families) we have served during this time. Our valued & loyal members come from all walks of life, many from our vulnerable & marginalized communities across the Region, with some families seen as at-risk. BGC Peel continues to be an affirming community where EVERYONE can benefit from the services and programs we offer. We are unique in that 80% of our youth leaders began as members with us as young as 6 years old.

- Support programs that empower children and youth in their development towards achieving their potential as a contributing member of society.
- Undertake active outreach to serve vulnerable(1) children and youth.
- Create opportunities through which all children and have equal access for participating.
- Facilitate the development and enhancement of community programs that aim at prevention and support.
- Provide services for children and youth that support their development as individuals within the context of the family environment.
(Vulnerable is defined as those children and youth at risk for development of significant social, emotional, or behavioural problems. These children are more likely to be dependent on public resources over the course of their development, particularly through child welfare, social assistance, or mental health service systems.)
Our Approach
BGC Peel utilizes a respectful, inclusive and engaging approach to serving the community. Our programs support young people and their families to overcome barriers, enhance their lives and empower them to reach their potential. We strengthen our participants’ well-being, build their capacity to learn and develop our community’s future leaders.
Impact and Outreach
- Over 1,200 children, youth and parents are served in the after-school, summer, leadership and parent programs
- Over 350 families benefit from the affordable, accessible and reliable services we offer
- Youth participants, both current and former, represent over 70% of the agency’s employee base and over 90% of volunteers.
